hello everybody listening to Alfred's Bible Club podcast let's open our Bibles to the book of Psalm chapter 96 verse one I read sing to the Lord a new song sing to the Lord all the Earth praise the Lord this personal scripture is telling us to sing when you look through a lot of the Bible you'll see that one of the ways that we can minister to God and we can fellowship with God is true singing not just prayer a lot of us remember to pray a lot of us when it comes to spending time with God we put praying first we pray and we live out singing We only sing when we are in church it's only when we are in the congregation of the bre that as it is part of the sequence of events of the service that there is a worship session and a prayer session that is the only time some of us sing but we have to realize the ministry and the paths of singing to God I'm praising God in our private time as one of the most effective and efficient ways to fellowship with God and bring forth the results that you are trying to get in prayer a lot of times what you are trying to pray to God to give you what you are trying to get VI having intense prayer sessions with God those things you are trying to get you will get them freely and easily and Stressless by just praising God you know in African culture one of the things that are done when you meet a king is they bow to the king they prostrate to the king and they start saying good and nice things to the king and a lot of times the Praises are exaggerated oh King live forever oh you are the tallest man in Africa oh you are the the strongest man in afca or othering bow to you you know they just keep loading it on loading it on and is the salutation that is the greeting you can see traces of that in many other cultures in different parts of the world throughout time where they praise the King and they praise the reality as an introduction even before saying anything you greet even if you come to a King with complaint you come and bow down first and then you praise him first before you start laying out your complaints you don't just come to a King with bad news and that is how some people have gotten thems hung and beheaded in the past you know they come with praise first and you can see some of that in even some aspect of eate even when you look at Germany in the era of their aristocracy or you look at France in the area of aristocracy before the French Revolution when they had Kings and all of that that is how the kings were addressed they were praed first before the problem was brought even in the Old Testament you see scriptures about approaching a king you know bringing gifts to a King first there's a power of that even though the person who came to the king came to take something came to ask for something came to request for something and even though the King has many gifts I mean the king is King he has more gold and gifts that the person who is bringing a gift you also you have the common sense to bring a gift first if this is how the tradition is with men you know think about how impactful it is with God I know God is not a man but God requires it we've read the Scripture it says Sing Praises you know when you come to God come with the gift come with praises when look at the Old Testament they will come with sacrifice they come with Thanksgiving they come with an offering so now we don't kill cows and Rams because the blood of Jesus has been shed and that covers all those animal sacrifices no those days of animal sacrifices have pass so now we have the incense of our lips the Praises of our lips the offering of our lips so now we offer offerings of our lips praise God you know it's important to open with praise before you even worry about prayer sometimes the prayer is not even necessary the praise is more important and the scripture also talks about singing a new song we need to go beyond singing songs that are written by others you can sing how you feel your own song your own the Bible says Sing a new song onto the Lord it doesn't say sing an old song or sing a song that somebody else has written I'm not condemning songs that other people have written but I'm talking about the importance of you yourself personalizing your own song to God I'm talking a love letter from you to God it's one thing to buy somebody a hom card that has beautiful romantic things on it that was written by a company then you giving that person a card like this Christmas season a lot of people be giving out Christmas cards it's another thing for you to handle write your own feelings and your own experiences you know if you receive a card from somebody you will take the one that is handwritten to heart more than the one that has something that the company the card company wrote on it so in the same way your worship songs you can freestyle your own feelings God will take that more and that has more we before God than you just singing somebody else's song or somebody else's story Express Yourself sing a new song to the Lord not the same old song and I'm not condemning old songs and I'm not saying that should stop singing old songs I'm just saying that you must start singing a new song to the Lord so that's very important thank you and God bless you remember to check out.
