The Man Who Took My Parents Away Forever - written by Alfred (a short story for kids)

Once upon a time there lived a little boy named Francis. He was a nice Christian kid and was blessed to belong to a wonderful and loving Christian family. He loved spending time with his parents and they loved spending time with him.
One day, Francis was returning with his parents from a fun evening service at church when a drunk driver appeared out of nowhere and drove his car right into their car.
A few days later, Francis was confined to a wheel chair and his parents where dead. The doctor had said that Francis would never walk again.
Now, Francis shed tears at his parents funeral as he saw their coffins being lowered into the ground beside each other.
Francis’ heart was full of anger, hatred and bitterness. He hated the man who was responsible for this. He wished that all the pain in the world would just leave whatever they were doing and some how travel to that evil man in his jail cell and just pay him a visit: a permanent visit, so that he would know greater pain than any man had even known for the rest of his life.
Francis’ was now living with his Aunt and Uncle who had a little baby daughter of their own but they loved Francis just as if they had conceived him themselves.
Over time Francis’ Uncle and Aunt discovered that Francis was full of bitterness and unforgiveness. He wasn’t going to forgive the man responsible for taking his parents away. Months had passed since his parents where taken away but he still wasn’t letting go of his hate and anger. He would occasionally talk about the man who took his parents away from him in a very very scary light. He would write poems on little pieces of paper of how badly he wished that the person who took his parents away was hurt, and his Aunty and Uncle would see these poems lying around.
Francis’ Uncle and Aunt were also hurt by what the man who took away Francis’ parents did but the feelings of Francis towards this man was now getting out of hand. It was getting dangerously close to turning into something else that was almost evil in itself.   Francis’ Uncle and Aunt worried about him and started gradually talking to him about forgiveness and letting go of hurt and pain and bitterness.
No matter what Francis’ Uncle and Aunt said to him he still remained cold and bitter. He was a good boy and obeyed them and listened to them in any other matter, but in this one thing he said No! and he never was going to say Yes! that he would forgive the man who took his parents away. Francis was still in his wheel chair and anytime he so much as saw the wheel chair he was reminded of what was stolen from him.
Francis’ Uncle and Aunt started praying for him because his anger was getting too much. It kept getting even worse everyday.
Francis soon received an apology letter that the man who took his parents away sent to him from prison but Francis tore it up immediately.
Francis’ Uncle and Aunt knew about the letter so they started talking to him more about the danger of not letting go when people hurt us. They told him how toxic hatred can be, but Francis still refused to let go.
Francis believed in miracles. He believed that God could heal him therefore he prayed everyday that God would heal him even though the doctor said that he would never walk again.
One day, while reading the bible; God began to speak with Francis. He explained to him that he has to forgive others their tresspasses if he wants his own trespasses against God to not be held against him.
God spoke to Francis for hours.
Francis later decided to forgive and he let go of all his hate for the man who took his parents away. That day, as Francis later prayed as he always has that God would heal him; Francis got healed and got out of his wheelchair. He walked for the first time since the accident. It was then Francis discovered and was convinced of the fact that hatred, bitterness or anger are truly poison and truly toxic. They were what were keeping his miracle at bay from him.

THE END.
