It’s a dangerous thing to look for counsel in the world.
Psalm 1:1 KJV: “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.”
No matter how wise or nice the advise from the world may sound it is an advise that comes from darkness. Those who are without Christ are without light. They are children of darkness. Their advise is like searching for a walking stick in the dark. Sometimes they may find the walking stick, Sometimes they’ll find something else they’d use as a walking stick which is the wrong thing, but Most Of The Time they’ll end up ruining everything.

Jay Z is not the place any Christian even You should look for wisdom or guidance. He doesn’t even believe in Jesus. He doesn’t have any intimate acquaintance with the Word of God. His principles & precepts which is the foundation of his thoughts is not to any degree composed of the Word of God.

We live by God’s word. Any counsel that is not from the word of God or inspired by the Spirit of God therefore is inconsistent with the word of God; is not for us. It is not for the Christian.
We are consecrated. We are called apart. We are different. The world which is darkness has no counsel for the light; for we are the light of the world (Matthew 5: 14).

Jay Z saying, “We have a responsibility to push the conversation forward until we are all equal in this place because until everyone is free no one is free” sounds good but the truth is it is darkness that would lead into darkness.

A Christian does not have a responsibility to push the conversation forward until we are all equal. That is the mission of Socialism not Christianity. We already have our own mission; it’s the great commission (Mark 16: 15). We have a mandate to preach the gospel which is the answer to all of man’s problems. We are the light of the world because we carry the gospel which is the answer to all of man’s problems.
The societal ill that Socialism seeks to cure, the gospel is already the cure for.
Economic equality is Socialism.
It is not the Christian’s responsibility to try to make everybody equal in this place; economically or ensure everyone is in the same class.
Jesus said, the poor you would always have with you (Matthew 26: 11).
Poverty is a choice and there would always be people who choose to be poor. You may be born into a poor family but you have to choose to remain poor.
Jesus saw the poor in his day and his solution for the poor was giving the poor the gospel not giving them money or having a politicial revolution.
Luke 4:18 KJV:
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because HE HATH ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.”
You can give the poor money but after they’ve finished eating they’ll be poor again. So giving the poor money is not a solution to their poverty. It’s a temporary easing of lack & hunger but no a solution. You can even give the poor knowledge from financial education but then what happens when Satan strikes, when famine comes, or unplanned emergencies comes to suck the money dry. How can Financial education save then? The gospel is the only solution to poverty nothing else. No social justice movement is the answer to poverty, lack or want. No legislation can solve poverty. Only the gospel; for the gospel is the power of God and contains the Wisdom of God which is higher than Financial Education.

Now let me address the Jay quote in the video, “until everyone is free no one is free.”
It is typical of someone who believes there is a Heaven and there is no Hell.
In his wordiness; in the darkness he sees the world through, the devil has deceived him that it is kindness to believe in a good outcome for everybody and leave no one behind. Everybody gets to go to heaven. After all “until everyone is free no one is free” so “until everyone is in heaven no one is in heaven.”
Those are the kind of precepts that are the foundation for his thoughts.

The pharse “until everyone is free no one is free” goes against the truth of God’s word. Jay Z’s quote is not something for us to live by.
He who the son sets free is free indeed (John 8: 36).
Your salvation is not dependent on the collective salvation of everyone else.
Your blessing is not dependent on whether everyone in the world is blessed or not.
Other people being in bondage does rob you of your Freedom.
When God has set you free, you are free. Your freedom is dependent on God setting you free and your response to God, not on the freedom of others as well. Some people are going in go to Hell. Sadly, some people are there now, but that doesn’t rob you of the joy of going to heaven.
The same applies to your blessings here on earth. Your blessings and freedom you receive from God on the earth is not invalidated by not everybody receiving the freedoms and blessings.

Also note that Jay – Z is a billionaire conveniently saying, “until everyone is free no one is free.” Which is just saying, “don’t mind all the money I have I’m in the same boat with poor people and the Average Joe. Now let me go back and enjoy my money while you think I’m in the same boat with you.”
It’s really clever P.R to say “until everyone is free no one is free.” What a Politician with the masses he is.

Finally, you said “Ability=responsibility.” The thing is what does the word say.
Apostle Paul said, “Woe is me if I preach not the gospel..” (1 Corinthians 9: 16).
So you have a responsibility if God has given you a mandate.
The ability comes with the mandate to go.

Matthew 28:18-19 NKJV
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. [19] Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Therefore, the mandate (instruction) = Authority = Responsibility = Victory (because we are more than conquerors. *Romans 8: 37)

So you’re absolutely correct (only if we isolate what you said and act like it’s not connected to what Jay – Z said, and the mission is spreading the Gospel’and not what Jay – Z was talking about).
